The Senior Copywriter is a highly organised individual with a passion for technology and the ability to deliver engaging, innovative campaigns and digital communications. With strong skills in articulating and presenting ideas, the role works collaboratively across Client Services, Strategy, and Creative Services to develop inventive, effective, and integrated marketing campaigns. A key focus is originating strong concepts and activations, recommending content, supporting content strategies, and generating intelligent ideas in close collaboration with Strategy and Insight, underpinned by a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and industries. The role balances brand awareness and demand objectives in line with commercial requirements.
As part of the Creative Services department, the Senior Copywriter works closely with Creative, Design, Strategy, Digital, and Client Services teams to deliver best‑in‑class work for global technology brands across channels, including campaigns, social, and digital. Supporting the Copy Lead and Associate Creative Director, the role collaborates across creative disciplines to ensure work is executed to the highest standard, on time, and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Turn complex technology into captivating copy and challenge traditional notions of B2B speak.
- Write strategic, conceptual and highly targeted copy for all elements of the marketing mix and across multiple channels (including digital, social, video scripts, white papers, messaging frameworks, etc).
- Take a customer‑first approach – understanding the specific business reader and how to talk to them in a professional, inspiring way.
- Participate in ideation sessions to share new copy perspectives and ideas.
- Check the quality of copy output, including proofing checks where required, ensuring consistently high standards.
- Champion the importance of great copy and oversee the implementation of style guides and relevant processes alongside the Associate Creative Director/Copy Lead.
- Adhere to briefs, deadlines and tone of voice guidelines, while bringing experience and creativity into play.
- Support the Associate Creative Director/Copy Lead on innovative ways of utilising AI tools within the Copy team.
- Work with the Associate Creative Director and Copy Lead on relevant projects, demonstrating a collaborative approach throughout.
- Act as a key source of copywriting knowledge and advice to other team members and colleagues within the wider agency.
- Assist the Associate Creative Director and Copy Lead with new team members’ induction plans, where applicable.
- Build credibility and trust with clients and agency team members at all levels.
- Mentor the team to ensure the highest levels of client experience are delivered, considering relationships, capabilities and skills, and team composition.
- Develop and proactively manage personal development plans for direct team members.
- Ensure the team is enabled and supported to reach its potential through active learning about the Marketbridge offering, marketing trends, client industries and competitors.
- Embrace and deploy a coaching style to support the Associate Creative Director and Copy Lead in the creation of a high‑performing team.
- Have a passion for the written word and its impact within technology‑focused communications.
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in copywriting at a senior level.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in working with strategy when strategic copywriting is required.

- Understanding the needs of the Client Services team to show awareness of day‑to‑day client demands.

- Be adaptable and flexible with the ability to multitask when required, e.g., can work on your own projects whilst overseeing other team members.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong portfolio showcasing copy skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with the copy team management, supporting pre‑scope conversations with Client Services around briefs, timings, and creative requirements.
- Brings experience supporting and mentoring copy team members, contributing to their development and day‑to‑day guidance where appropriate.
- Provides clear, thoughtful input into the direction and execution of copy tasks across the team, in alignment with senior creative leadership.
- Works confidently with senior creative team members on client proposals when required.
- Supports the transition of strategic thinking into campaign ideas, working closely with senior Creative and Strategy teams.
- Stays across emerging trends in AI, copy, content, and creative ideation, using them to elevate ideas and impress clients.
- Contributes to the ongoing growth and evolution of the copy team, culture, and craft.
