- Pump & Mechanical Service Engineer on behalf of our client based in
- Harlow on a
Permanent basis.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance and repair of a variety of industrial pumps and mechanical equipment.
- Work on pumps, motors, fans and other types of rotating equipment.
- Carry out bearing and mechanical seal replacements.
- Replace complete pump and mechanical equipment units where required.
- Service and maintain pumping stations, including sewage pumping stations.
- Safely lift pumps and associated equipment for inspection and maintenance.
- Clear debris from pumping stations and ensure equipment is operating correctly.
- Check and test float switches and associated control gear.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
- Work directly on customer sites and liaise professionally with customer representatives.
- Carry out work at height and within confined spaces where required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Participate in overtime and call-out work when required, which is paid at premium rates.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working with industrial pumps and mechanical equipment .
- Good knowledge of pumps, motors, inverters and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of electrical panels and controls.
- Experience carrying out mechanical maintenance and repairs.
- Experience replacing bearings and mechanical seals.
- Confident working on customer sites and dealing directly with customer representatives.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- Willingness to work at height and within confined spaces where required. Training can be provided.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety within an engineering environment.
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
