Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment. The role involves producing precision components from plastic and metal, working from technical drawings and specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes to manufacture precision components from plastic and metal.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and CAD models.
- Set and adjust machinery, tooling and workpieces to required specifications.
- Carry out grinding, milling and assembly work where required.
- Use hand tools, power tools and machining equipment.
- Inspect components using verniers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.
- Ensure finished components meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
About You
- Previous experience operating manual lathes.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and engineering drawings.
- Experience with grinding, milling and assembly.
- Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CAD/SolidWorks experience would be advantageous.
Salary & Hours
£16.50 – £19.50 per hour
Mon - Fri 8am - 4:30pm
