We are currently engaged on behalf of a highly regarded alternative investment platform seeking to appoint a Senior Operations Analyst / Associate into its London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a fund operations professional with prior hedge fund or credit fund experience to join a growing and commercially active investment environment.
The organisation operates within a fast-paced and collaborative setting, offering exposure across multiple operational disciplines including treasury, trade support, reconciliations, NAV oversight and loan operations. The successful individual will work closely with senior operational leadership and investment professionals, supporting the day-to-day infrastructure of the fund.
The Operations Analyst will be responsible for overseeing daily operations activities such as trade settlements, reconciliations, payments, NAV reconciliations, treasury and cash management. The Operations Analyst will also be responsible for administrative duties such as maintaining contracts and client accounts. Exposure to critical functions including Operations, Trading Operations, Treasury, Investor Relations (IR), Fund Accounting, Audit, and Tax.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with trade settlement processes, including the confirmation and settlement of trades.
- Corporate action support.
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations.
- Monitor and investigate any discrepancies that arise during the reconciliation process.
- Process payments for various transactions including expenses and investments.
- Support the Operations team in various tasks, including system testing and report generation.
- Assisting NAV reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely NAV calculations.
- Identify and propose process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2:1 or higher Bachelor's degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Repo, CDS, CLO, TRS, Bonds.... product coverage or 60% of them minimum.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, etc.).
- Proficient in VBA or SQL.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow in the role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in finance and accounting.
- Customer service skills to provide support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
