Salaried GP in Rugby

We are seeking an exceptional candidate for a Fixed Term Salaried GP position (7 sessions) to join our friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated team.

As a General Practitioner you will provide high-quality patient centered care whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes routine clinical sessions, duty triage, telephone and face to face consultations.

Main duties of the job

• Provide high quality clinical care to patients in line with GMC and RCGP standards
• Undertake a mix of telephone, face to face, and triage consultations
• Manage acute, chronic, and preventive care needs
• Support duty doctor sessions as part of the clinical rota
• Review pathology results, documents, and correspondence (supported by digital automation tools)
• Contribute to clinical meetings, MDT discussions, and practice development
• Engage in CPD, appraisal, and revalidation activities
• Work collaboratively with the wider MDT, including pharmacy, and nursing teams
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical records using EMIS and Docman

About us

Market Quarter Medical Practice is a well established GP practice in Rugby, Warwickshire with a patient list of 8,400.

We are a training practice with a clinical team consisting of 2 GP Partners, 3 salaried GP's, 1 ANP, 1 Nurse and 1 HCA.

We are supported by PCN additional roles - First Contact Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Social Prescriber, Occupational Therapy, Dietician, Podiatry, GP Assistant, Mental Health & Wellbeing nurses, Enhanced Access team.

• Primary Responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP.

There may be on occasion a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

• The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
• The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
• Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
• Effective management of long-term conditions
• Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
• On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
• Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
• Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
• Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
• Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
• Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
• Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
• Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
• Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
• Prepare and complete the revalidation process
• Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
• Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
• Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
• Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
• Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
• Secondary Responsibilities
• In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:
• Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
• Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
• Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i. e. root cause analysis (RCA)

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
• Annual appraisal and revalidation when appropriate
• General practice Vocational Training Scheme trained
• On a PCT medical performers list
• Enhanced CRB check
• UK driving licence
• Current CPR certificate
• UK work permit if required
• Experience with primary care IT systems e. g. EMIS Web
