The Women’s Health Nurse plays a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within Market Harborough & Bosworth Partnership. The role focuses on providing contraception services, including the removal and checking of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and implant fittings, as well as supporting women with menopause management.
Main duties:
- Provide consultations, advice and treatments for women, including contraception (IUD/implant fitting and removal), menopause management, and sexual health services.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualised care plans in line with national guidelines.
- Support cervical screening programmes and women’s health‑related education.
- Monitor service performance, undertake audits and drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Educate and mentor colleagues, participate in research and contribute to strategic goals for women’s health.
Job responsibilities:
- Clinical practice includes providing consultations and fitting/removal of IUDs and implants, delivering specialist menopause support, conducting assessments and developing care plans, providing follow‑up, sexual health advice, and supporting screening programmes.
- Service monitoring and quality improvement: take part in audits, participate in improvement initiatives.
- Education and advocacy: educate patients, provide training and mentorship, support development of patient education materials.
- Administrative responsibilities: accurate documentation, attend meetings, assist in practice policy development.
- Research participation and continuous professional development as required.
- Collaboration and leadership: work closely with multidisciplinary team, contribute to strategy, practice philosophy, policy.
- Health and safety, equality and diversity, risk management, confidentiality, safeguarding responsibilities as per policy.

- Full driving licence and DBS check.
Experience:
- Experience with EMIS clinical system and primary care setting.
Qualifications:
- Implant fitting.
