Market Halls Victoria is a vibrant food hall and social destination in the heart of London, bringing together some of the city's best independent food traders, multiple bars, live sport and events across three floors, including our rooftop terrace.

We want every guest to receive a warm welcome from the moment they arrive.

We're looking for an experienced, confident and personable Guest Experience & Security Host who can combine excellent hospitality with the responsibilities of an SIA-licensed Door Supervisor.

This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to stand on a door.

You'll be a visible ambassador for Market Halls, welcoming guests, helping them navigate the venue and contributing to a safe, inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere.

The Role As a Guest Experience & Security Host, you'll be one of the first people our guests meet when they visit Market Halls Victoria.

You'll provide a friendly and professional welcome, help guests understand the venue and where they need to go, and work closely with the wider management and operations teams to deliver an excellent guest experience.

Alongside the hospitality element of the role, you'll carry out the responsibilities of an SIA Door Supervisor, helping us maintain a safe environment and dealing professionally with any incidents that arise.

The ability to communicate confidently and de-escalate situations calmly is far more important to us than an overly confrontational approach to security.

  • Guest Experience
  • Provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to every guest.
  • Act as an ambassador for Market Halls and help create a positive first and last impression.
  • Help guests navigate our multi-floor venue, including directing them towards food traders, bars, seating areas, toilets, events and the rooftop terrace.
  • Answer guest questions and provide information about the venue.
  • Support the management and floor teams during busy periods.
  • Help manage queues and guest flow while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
  • Proactively identify guests who may need assistance rather than waiting to be approached.
  • Safety & Security
  • Carry out the duties of an SIA-licensed Door Supervisor.
  • Support the venue's licensing objectives and operating procedures.
  • Monitor guest behaviour and identify potential issues before they escape.
  • Use strong communication and de-escalation skills to resolve situations calmly and professionally.
  • Conduct age verification and Challenge 25 procedures where required.
  • Assist with managing intoxicated, disruptive or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Refuse entry or ask guests to leave where necessary, doing so professionally and proportionately.
  • Support venue management with emergency procedures, evacuations and incidents.
  • Accurately report and document security incidents where required.
  • Work closely with the management team and other security personnel to maintain a safe environment for guests, staff and traders.

You'll be joining a fast-paced, high-energy hospitality business where no two shifts are the same.

Market Halls Victoria hosts thousands of guests each week across food, drinks, live sport, events and social occasions.

We're looking for people who want to contribute to the whole guest experience - not simply perform a security function.

If you're an SIA-licensed Door Supervisor with the personality of a great host, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.

  • The ability to de-escalate difficult situations without unnecessary confrontation.
  • Professional appearance and behaviour.
  • Reliability and excellent timekeeping.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy event periods.

  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, bars, restaurants or high-footfall venues.
