At Market Halls, we’re looking for an energetic and inspiring Duty Manager to lead our teams, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and drive operational excellence. As a key leader on shift, you’ll oversee the daily operation of our venue, co‑ordinating floor, bar, kitchen, and trader activities while ensuring high standards of service, compliance, and team performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leadership & Operations
- Lead daily service shifts and ensure smooth venue operations.
- Co‑ordinate teams across all departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Conduct shift briefings and communicate business priorities and targets.
- Manage opening and closing procedures, stock control, deliveries, and operational compliance.
- Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Team Development
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members.
- Support recruitment, on‑boarding, and training initiatives.
- Conduct regular performance conversations and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.
- Guest Experience
- Deliver outstanding hospitality and service standards.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor during service.
- Drive continuous improvement through guest feedback and satisfaction metrics.
- Drive sales through guest engagement and upselling opportunities.
- Monitor labour, stock, waste, and site performance targets.
- Support business reviews and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and licensing regulations.
- Maintain audit readiness and due diligence standards.
- Act as a key holder and support site safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or hospitality leader
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and licensing regulations
- Experience managing large teams in a busy hospitality environment
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
