Role Purpose:

The Senior Loan Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing the loan origination and portfolio management processes, ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of our lending activities. This position requires a deep understanding of lending principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make sound credit decisions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our lending business.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Origination and Underwriting:

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, analysing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
  • Make informed lending decisions, balancing risk and profitability considerations.
  • Oversee the management and administration of the loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor loan performance, review portfolio quality, and develop strategies to minimize credit risk.
  • Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and make recommendations for portfolio adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the loan origination and portfolio management teams.
  • Set performance targets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with borrowers, ensuring excellent customer service and addressing their financing needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit analysts, legal, and compliance teams, to facilitate efficient loan processing and closing.

Role Requirements:

  • Proven experience in loan origination, credit analysis, and portfolio management, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of lending principles, credit analysis techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex credit situations and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using loan management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
