Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for experienced Bench Joiners / Cabinet Makers on behalf of our client, a manufacturing company based in Witham, on a temporary to permanent basis. The successful candidates will have previous Bench Joinery or Cabinet Making experience and will be confident working independently, reading technical drawings and producing high-quality finished retail products.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assembling timber components and products to specification
  • Reading and working from technical drawings
  • Operating woodworking machinery safely and accurately
  • Using saws, routers and planers
  • Sanding, scraping and planing final assembled timber products to achieve a flawless finish
  • Preparing finished products ready for varnishing, staining or painting
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Carrying out any additional tasks required for the effective operation of the department.

Experience, education & qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker is essential
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience operating woodworking machinery and using saws, routers and planers
  • Strong practical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and get on with the task in hand
  • Health and safety conscious
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to produce work to a high standard

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

Salary: Up to £18.00 per hour, depending on experience

Contract: Temporary to permanent
