Market 36 Recruitment are recruiting for a Waste Management Supervisor on behalf of our client, a leading IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) organisation with operations across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to lead waste compliance and environmental operations within a regulated, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and submit quarterly waste returns in line with Environment Agency permit conditions.
- Submit Packaging Waste Return Notices under Producer Responsibility Obligations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of waste classifications, movement, and treatment.
- Act as the main point of contact for the Environment Agency for audits, inspections, and licensing.
- Manage renewals, variations, and resolve any compliance or licensing issues.
- Ensure full adherence to Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR) and WEEE directives.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of waste management processes across ITAD operations.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with operations teams to integrate sustainable and compliant waste handling practices.
- Provide regular performance and compliance reports to the Compliance Manager.
- Deliver training and support to operational staff on legal and environmental obligations.
- Visit to Manchester site monthly to support local waste compliance and operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- WAMITAB Level 4 (or higher) in Waste Management (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience in a waste management role, ideally within an ITAD or regulated setting.
- Strong working knowledge of UK environmental legislation and compliance reporting.
- Experience with WEEE and packaging compliance schemes.
- Understanding of EA platforms such as NPWD, RPS, and EPR portals.
- Hazardous waste management experience.
