Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Press Brake Setter / Operator on behalf of our client based in the Sudbury area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business, where you will be responsible for setting and operating Amada press brake machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components. The successful candidate will work from engineering drawings, ensuring products are manufactured accurately, safely and to the highest quality standards whilst meeting production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Amada press brake machines to manufacture sheet metal components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders and production documentation.
- Select, install and align the correct press brake tooling, including punches and dies.
- Program and edit bending programmes directly at the machine interface.
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections using measuring equipment such as callipers and tape measures.
- Adjust machine settings and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Identify and resolve basic machine, tooling or material issues to minimise downtime.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and daily housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Work flexibly across other manufacturing departments when required to support production demands.
