Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Press Brake Setter / Operator on behalf of our client based in the Sudbury area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business, where you will be responsible for setting and operating Amada press brake machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components.

The successful candidate will work from engineering drawings, ensuring products are manufactured accurately, safely and to the highest quality standards whilst meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Amada press brake machines to manufacture sheet metal components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders and production documentation.
  • Select, install and align the correct press brake tooling, including punches and dies.
  • Program and edit bending programmes directly at the machine interface.
  • Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections using measuring equipment such as callipers and tape measures.
  • Adjust machine settings and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  • Identify and resolve basic machine, tooling or material issues to minimise downtime.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and daily housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Work flexibly across other manufacturing departments when required to support production demands.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality whilst supporting ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

The ideal candidate will have

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC press brake machinery, ideally Amada.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using measuring equipment including callipers and tape measures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make machine adjustments where required.
  • A flexible approach to work and willingness to assist other departments when needed.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
