STORES & COMPLIANCE ENGINEER Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Stores & Compliance Engineer on behalf of a respected and established client in the food sector, based in Witham, Essex. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working within a busy engineering department that supports production-critical processes. About the Role: The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing stock management, maintenance scheduling, and compliance activities within the engineering function. This is a hands-on hybrid role combining engineering support with inventory control and compliance monitoring of critical control points (CCPs) such as metal detectors and weighing systems. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on key production line equipment, including CCPs. * Manage and maintain engineering stores: ordering, tracking, and replenishing stock. * Use the CMMS system to record stock levels, values, and maintenance schedules. * Assist in resolving technical issues related to production equipment. * Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company and legislative standards. * Liaise with production and operations teams to align priorities. * Adhere to health & safety policies and champion best practices across the department. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and compliance audits. * Contribute to training and knowledge sharing with apprentices and junior team members. Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Previous engineering or compliance experience in a food or FMCG environment. * Knowledge of critical control points and factory processes. * Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems (PPM, PM, RM). * Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. * Competency using CMMS or similar stock/maintenance tracking software. * Full UK driving licence. * Desirable: HACCP training, time-served maintenance or quality background, A-Level education or equivalent. Location: Based on site at a modern food production facility in Witham, Essex.
