National Business Development Manager
Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a National Business Development Manager to join a growing business and play a key role in identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across the built environment sector.
With a competitive salary of £50,000–£55,000 plus an OTE of £80,000–£90,000, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to take ownership of a national growth strategy and develop strong, long-term client relationships.
Main Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving commercial growth by developing strategic client relationships, building a strong pipeline of prospective clients and positioning the company as a credible and trusted compliance partner.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take a consultative approach to business development and work closely with internal teams to ensure new opportunities are progressed and handed over effectively.
This role will be based in Feering and will require regular nationwide travel to meet with clients, attend networking events and represent the business at industry exhibitions.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's services, including key handover points, service limitations and when technical input is required.
- Proactively identify strategic client relationships and commercial opportunities within the built environment sector.
- Build and manage a high-quality pipeline through networking, referrals, market research, account mapping and targeted engagement.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers using a consultative approach to understand client needs and present appropriate solutions.
- Create and maintain targeted engagement plans for prospective and priority clients.
- Develop new client relationships and establish the company as a trusted and credible compliance partner.
- Work towards agreed commercial objectives through effective business development, opportunity progression and pipeline management.
- Attend client meetings, support proposals and deliver presentations or briefing sessions.
- Travel nationwide to visit clients and develop strong, long-term commercial relationships.
- Maintain accurate records, including meeting notes, account plans, opportunity updates, forecasts and next actions.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Client Services and internal management teams to ensure new relationships are handed over effectively.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, regulatory developments and emerging client requirements.
- Represent the company professionally at client meetings, networking events and industry exhibitions.
- Maintain an informed understanding of relevant industry practices, company services and client requirements.
- Report regularly and accurately on working activity, pipeline progress and commercial objectives.
- Participate in and contribute to the ongoing adherence to management systems and standards, including ISO 9001.
- Support a culture of continuous operational improvement.
- Undertake any other duties within your capability as directed by management.
