Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrical / Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client based in Ipswich.
This is a permanent opportunity to join a well-established, family-owned engineering business specialising in the repair, overhaul and servicing of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and associated rotating equipment.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Stripping pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, fan units and other electrical equipment for evaluation and quotation.
- Carrying out servicing, overhauls, rewinds and repairs on a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Rebuilding equipment and completing final testing to ensure all repairs meet company quality standards.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and carrying out effective repairs.
- Attending customer sites to remove, repair and reinstall equipment.
- Producing quotations for repairs where required.
- Completing service reports and associated job documentation accurately.
- Working both within the workshop and on customer sites, representing the company professionally.
- Participating in an on-call rota to respond to emergency breakdowns.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Electrical / Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience working on electric motors, pumps, gearboxes or similar rotating equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Organised and methodical approach to work.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Flexible approach with willingness to participate in an on-call rota and overtime.

- Approximately £37,000 per annum, depending on experience.
