Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Lead CNC Operator on behalf of our client based in Haverhill on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to take ownership of all CNC machining operations within a busy woodworking manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, operating and maintaining CNC machinery whilst supporting production, training operators and driving continuous improvement across the department.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Program, set and operate a range of woodworking CNC machinery
- Operate 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis and nesting CNC machines
- Optimise CNC programs to maximise production efficiency and material utilisation
- Oversee the day-to-day running of all CNC machinery within the business
- Diagnose and resolve machine, tooling and programming issues
- Liaise with machine manufacturers regarding technical support, software updates, servicing and breakdowns
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules
- Ensure all CNC machinery is maintained to a high operational standard
- Train, mentor and support CNC Operators
- Establish best practices for machine setup, programming and operation
- Work closely with the Design and Production teams to achieve production targets
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Support continuous improvement projects across the manufacturing department
- Ensure Health & Safety and quality procedures are followed at all times
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Extensive experience programming, setting and operating woodworking CNC machinery
- Strong experience with 5-axis CNC machines and nesting CNC machinery
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC machine, tooling and software issues
- Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining optimisation
- Experience supervising CNC operations or leading a production team
Desirable
- Experience using Solid Works
- Experience using SWOOD software
- Previous experience within furniture, joinery, cabinet manufacturing or woodworking
- Experience training and developing CNC Operators
- Working Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time, permanent position
- £17.50 - £19.00 per hour (depending on experience)
