Works Order Controller

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Works Order Controller to provide a key control point between the warehouse and production, ensuring that all stock movements and works orders are managed accurately and in line with product safety, legality, traceability and quality requirements.

Main Purpose of the Role

The Works Order Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and traceability of stock entering and leaving production.

The role will involve checking stock, verifying batches and quantities, monitoring allergen requirements, booking finished goods and reconciling works orders to ensure all stock movements are recorded accurately.

  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • Check stock into production, ensuring the correct batches, quantities and allergen requirements are met.
  • Systematically verify that stock has been correctly issued to the relevant works order before being released to production.
  • Check finished goods and ensure they are accurately booked off on the system.
  • Reconcile and close works orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure any discrepancies are identified, raised and followed up with the relevant production or warehouse teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of all stock movements into and out of production, both physically and on the relevant systems.
  • Ensure finished goods are securely wrapped, correctly labelled and transferred from production to the appropriate warehouse location.
  • Ensure all returns are correctly returned from the works order to the WOR bin with the relevant labels attached.
  • Ensure the correct storage and identity preservation of allergenic products and coated products.
  • Act as a key point of control between warehouse and production.
  • Ensure the safe movement of pallets in and out of production.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Escalate any stock discrepancies or issues to the relevant Production or Warehouse Manager.
  • Support the maintenance of accurate stock records and traceability.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within required timescales and to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by a manager.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using computerised stock or production systems.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work systematically and follow established processes.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with both warehouse and production teams.
  • Previous experience within a warehouse, production, manufacturing or stock control environment would be advantageous.
  • Working Pattern & Salary
  • Hours: 6:00am – 2:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £12.99 per hour
