Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Stores & Goods-In Operative on behalf of one of our clients based in Dunmow. This is a key role within the operations team, responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing raw materials and goods-in. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring that only quality materials enter the production process, helping maintain high standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Verify delivery documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Report and document any damaged or non-conforming items.
- Maintain accurate stock records using an ERP system.
- Quarantine and label non-conforming goods and initiate corrective actions.
- Liaise with purchasing and internal departments to resolve quality issues.
- Carry out stock checks and assist with regular stocktakes.
- Store and organise materials safely and efficiently.
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet trucks.
- Ensure the stores area is kept clean, organised, and safe.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection and stores process.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar Stores/Goods-In role.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Competent with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Valid forklift license is essential.
