Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Press Brake Operator / Sheet Metal Worker on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating press brake machinery, supporting laser cutting operations, and carrying out a range of sheet metal fabrication duties to produce high-quality components.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machinery safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Manufacture sheet metal components to required tolerances and quality standards.
- Carry out quality control inspections on completed parts.
- Assist with laser cutting operations when required.
- Perform additional fabrication duties including grinding, assembly and general sheet metal work.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and customer requirements.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience operating press brakes, carrying out sheet metal work, or working within a similar engineering environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools associated with sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of assembly processes relating to sheet metal components.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
