Market 36 Recruitment are recruiting for a Technical Food Process Operator for our client based in Braintree. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist manufacturer operating unique spray crystallisation technology within a food production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, maintaining quality and hygiene standards, and ensuring food products are manufactured safely and efficiently.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor specialist computer-controlled production equipment.
  • Manufacture food products in line with production, quality, and hygiene standards.
  • Prepare packaging, labels, and coding to specification.
  • Store, mix, blend, and package products following GMP procedures.
  • Carry out product inspection, packing, and metal detection checks.
  • Palletise, wrap, and label finished goods.
  • Complete production and food safety documentation accurately.
  • Carry out cleaning schedules and maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and quality procedures.
  • Support other departments as required.

Experience

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, food production, pharmaceutical, or chemical environment.
  • Experience operating and monitoring automated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, or similar production systems would be advantageous.
  • Previous manual handling experience.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Confident using computer-based production systems.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • FLT Counterbalance or Bendi licence advantageous but not essential.

Hours

  • 43 hours per week.
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:15am – 5:15pm.
  • Friday: 7:15am – 3:15pm.

Salary

  • Up to £35,100 per annum.
