Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for Structural Steel Fabricators on behalf of our client based in Braintree, Essex. Our client is a well-established structural engineering and manufacturing company specialising in the production of telecommunications towers and structural steel infrastructure. Due to continued growth and an increase in projects, they are looking to expand their workshop team with multiple fabricators to support their production operations.
Main Purpose of the Role
To fabricate and assemble structural steel components used in telecommunications towers and infrastructure, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required engineering specifications and quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
- Measure, cut, and assemble steel sections for telecommunications tower structures
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently within the workshop environment
- Operate fabrication machinery such as drills, saws, and grinders
- Interpret technical drawings and fabrication instructions
- Assemble steel frameworks and structural components as part of the manufacturing process
- Ensure work is completed to high quality standards and within required timeframes
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment
Additional Responsibilities
- Support other areas of the production process when required
- Assist with the preparation and movement of materials within the workshop
- Report any issues with materials, drawings, or fabrication processes to supervisors
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the workshop and production processes
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience within fabrication, structural steel, or heavy engineering environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings would be advantageous
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
- Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Welding experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
