Market 36 Recruitment are recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join a growing commercial team.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will focus on developing, progressing and converting opportunities across agreed emerging, growing and strategically important service lines.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a strong working understanding of agreed emerging, growing and strategically important services.
  • Support clients in understanding services, their value, the process and the required next steps.
  • Progress quoted opportunities through structured follow-up, moving opportunities towards instruction, deferral, closure or confirmed loss.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunity status, client feedback, next actions, barriers to progression and expected decision timescales.
  • Identify opportunities for existing clients to benefit from agreed emerging or growing services.
  • Re-engage dormant and underdeveloped accounts where agreed by senior management.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure services are appropriately scoped, correctly quoted and capable of being processed consistently.
  • Respond to client questions within the scope of the role, escalating technical matters where specialist input is required.
  • Attend client calls, meetings and briefing sessions where required to support opportunities and answer commercial questions.
  • Report regularly on activity, quoted opportunity status, conversion progress and recurring client objections.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the development of standard explanations, guidance notes and agreed responses for common client questions.
  • Contribute to ongoing adherence to management systems and standards, including ISO 9001.
  • Promote a culture of continuous operational improvement.
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope of the role as reasonably directed by management.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a business development, sales or commercially focused role.
  • Confident communicating with clients and building positive commercial relationships.
  • Strong follow-up and opportunity management skills.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to understand client needs and communicate service value effectively.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal teams and escalate technical queries appropriately.
  • Confident attending client calls and meetings.
  • A proactive, driven and results-focused approach.

  • Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 + OTE £60,000 - £65,000 uncapped
