This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Injection Moulding professional with strong supervisory experience to join a well-established manufacturing business.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing shift operations, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards and leading a team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Main Purpose of the Role
To manage and oversee the injection moulding production shift, ensuring machines are set correctly, production targets are achieved and products are manufactured to the required quality standards.
The role will also involve supervising and developing staff, maintaining health and safety standards and driving continuous improvement across the department.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the injection moulding team during your shift.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Set and troubleshoot injection moulding machines to a high standard.
- Carry out machine tool trials and process improvements.
- Monitor production performance and report on operational issues.
- Ensure quality procedures and standards are consistently maintained.
- Work closely with other shift personnel to ensure effective handovers.
- Support the training, development and motivation of team members.
- Investigate production issues and identify root causes using problem-solving techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all company Health & Safety procedures.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the production area.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Manage shift communication through both verbal and written reports.
- Ensure company resources are utilised effectively to minimise costs.
- Support quality management systems and ISO compliance requirements.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a manufacturing environment in a supervisory or similar leadership capacity.
- Previous experience within plastics or injection moulding manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to set and troubleshoot injection moulding machines.
- Knowledge of hot runner controllers.
- Experience with air and hydraulic core systems.
- Understanding of plastic materials and moulding processes.
- Knowledge of insert changes, tooling and component drawings.
- Awareness of ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
