  • Role Purpose

Working as part of the Commercial Team, our overall objective is to achieve operational targets in respect of Sales, Renewals and Adjustments for the relevant products, whilst providing excellent customer service.

These targets will include volume of premium transactions, customer satisfaction levels, and document turnaround times.

You will be an instrumental part of our team with targets including the number of customer contacts made, leads obtained, quotations provided, sales generated as well as quality levels in relation to compliance and customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Expand the client base by proactively sourcing new business opportunities across a wide variety of Commercial products.
  • Assessing client demands and needs, analysing risks, and recommending appropriate insurance cover.
  • Preparation of submissions to insurers for quotation within underwriting guidelines.
  • Collaborating with insurers to secure tailored policies, preparing quotes.
  • Providing proactive support to the team for renewals, assisting in client relationships and terms’ negotiations to ensure retention of business.
  • Provide detailed monthly updates on sales performance and prospecting activity, highlighting key wins, renewal status, and action plan for the upcoming period.
  • Achieve and exceed all personal, team, and departmental performance targets, maintaining a focus on productivity and business growth.
  • Ensuring that all communications with customers are accurately recorded in line with the Company’s Procedures.
  • Ensure continuous professional development by participating in training, e‑learns and courses and recording CPD points.
  • Complying with FCA regulations and requirements.
  • Liaising with Claims Handlers/Loss Adjusters when required.
  • Attending and contributing to meetings and team briefings.
  • The observance of Hughes Insurance compliance procedures.
  • Visiting new and existing customers when required to ensure professional relationships are maintained.
  • Proactively managing insurer and client relationships.
  • Resolution of complaints from customers and the handling of complaints in line with the company complaints process.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Commercial experience working to Senior Account Handler level.
  • Cert CII qualification.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving licence.
  • You have a passion for working with people, and demonstrable ability to act with empathy, dignity, and respect.
  • You communicate clearly and transparently.
  • You have strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • You’re open to feedback and proactively champion change.

  • You can work independent, at times with minimal supervision.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using Open GI software or equivalent platforms.
  • Working towards your Diploma CII/ACII.
