Hybrid working, one day in the office per week (main locations, Peterborough or Manchester). Joining our Second Line Risk team, you will report to the Head of Risk Partnering and will actively engage and support functional areas of the business in maintaining an appropriate and effective approach to Risk Management Frameworks, Methodologies and Practices. Working in a small team you will have a real opportunity to shine and work alongside a wide range of stakeholders in a dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and risk register owners, providing constructive support, insight and challenge, promoting an active and informed risk‑taking culture.
- Engage proactively with risk owners within business functions to support the assessment and management of risk and control environments.
- Implement and embed the Group’s Risk Management Framework across business functions.
- Review and oversee key governance documents, including policies, frameworks and process guides.
- Prepare high‑quality reports for Divisional and Group risk meetings, ensuring accurate, clear messaging and challenging information where needed.
- Support the effective operation of the Group’s risk management system.
- Provide risk themed training across the business where required.
- Support the investigation and reporting of incidents as required.
Skills, Attributes and Experience Required
- Comprehensive understanding of risk frameworks, methodologies and practices.
- Relevant qualification or business partnering experience.
- Self‑starter with ability to work on own initiative, forming independent sound judgements.
- Strong communicator, with ability to build relationships, influence and challenge at senior levels.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a risk focussed role with an insurance / broking / commercial background.
- Analytic and problem‑solving skills.
- Adaptable to changing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
