About the Role
We are looking for a talented and commercially minded Cost Business Partner to join our Finance team. In this role, you\’ll deliver high-quality cost analysis, reporting, and planning across the MSG Group. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and directors to provide timely, accurate, and consistent insight into the cost base, enabling smarter, faster decision-making.
Partnering with both the Controllership team and the wider business, you\’ll help ensure robust and auditable financial processes while supporting cost control, planning, and identifying EBITDA improvement opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who thrives on combining data analysis with genuine business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
Business Performance & Cost Insight
- Produce high-quality month-end outputs with clear, concise commentary and variance analysis
- Support budgeting, rolling forecasts, and R&O processes for both staff and non-staff costs
- Identify cost performance issues and produce ad hoc analysis for greater business intelligence
- Collaborate with the Controllership team to review journals, accruals, and ensure accuracy of monthly results
- Partner with senior leadership to identify, develop and track cost-saving initiatives and value-adding opportunities
Business Partnering & Collaboration
- Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders and directors across MSG Group
- Deliver high-quality analysis to underpin key decisions and business cases
- Support wider business areas with performance insight and ad hoc projects
- Ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to financial reporting across the team
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Deliver accurate, timely reporting to the Board, ExCo, and Group stakeholders
- Maintain and update forecasting models and ensure appropriate governance
- Proactively look for ways to improve financial processes and business intelligence capability
What We\’re Looking For
Essential:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
- Proven ability to simplify complex data into clear insight
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong business partnering skills and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
- High levels of integrity, credibility, and a collaborative approach
Desirable:
- Degree-qualified
- Experience in cost planning or business partnering, ideally within Change or Transformation environments
