Our Leeds team is growing, and we’re looking for a solicitor who wants to play a key role in a well‑regarded casualty practice – without the pressure‑cooker culture.
Opportunity – You’ll join our established Casualty team in Leeds, working on a broad and challenging caseload of defendant Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims. Supported by experienced Partners and Senior Associates, you’ll have real autonomy, high‑quality work, and clear progression. This role is ideal for a solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE who enjoys technical work, values collaboration, and wants exposure to insurer‑facing advisory work while continuing to strengthen their litigation expertise.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing your own caseload of fast, intermediate, and multi‑track EL/PL defendant claims
- Advising insurers with clear, commercial and pragmatic legal advice
- Setting strategy, reserves and next steps in collaboration with senior colleagues
- Supporting the development of junior team members and paralegals
- Working closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver excellent outcomes
- Developing broader expertise across casualty‑related claims and insurance‑led work
- Playing an active role in the continued growth and success of the Leeds team
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified solicitor with defendant PI experience (EL/PL essential)
- Confident running your own caseload under appropriate supervision
- Strong grasp of Civil Procedure Rules
- Commercial, organised and solutions‑focused approach
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder skills
- A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in developing others
