We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to join our team, supporting the delivery of our National Markets UK Marketing plan.

This role represents a great opportunity to start and further progress your career within marketing! The Marketing department within Markel is a fun, successful team of motivated and passionate marketers covering the full marketing mix delivering innovative and tailored insurance solutions to our UK businesses, from charities and care organisations to providers of IT services and media companies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • End-to-end management of the UKNM events and hospitality plan - both in-person and virtual events.
  • Supporting the Head of Marketing Services to handle event and hospitality costs and budgets.
  • Reporting and tracking all events and hospitality activity and measurement of ROI.
  • Writing effective and engaging copy to support the delivering of the events and hospitality plans.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of collaborators across the business.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Leading equipment inventory, storage and shipment of materials to and from events.
  • Being an effective member of the Marketing team, working closely with the Marketing Services team and Channel leads.
  • Striving to deliver standard process across all activities.

What we’re looking for:

  • B2B events management experience (desirable, but not essential).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for building relationships and getting to know people and their needs, both digitally and in person.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines and work on a number of projects at once.
  • Desire to pursue Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
