The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Partner to join Markel’s HR team on a fixed term basis. The role will focus on driving a benefits strategy across all international locations as well as managing International Mobility.
As we continue to refine and elevate our international benefits strategy and operating model, we need additional help to design and implement across multiple jurisdictions, working with global centres of excellence and local HR teams.
What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work closely with a global benefits consultant/broker to review benchmark analysis to identify evolving workplace and industry trends in employee benefits.
  • Evaluate current benefits policies and programmes and develop recommendations to ensure programmes are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements
  • Take a global approach with specialisation based on regional needs to make a recommendation for a global core benefit offering which enhances the employee value proposition in local markets.
  • Manage the end-to-end mobility process across International and provide guidance and support to internal business leaders.
  • Proactively partner with and seek input from key partners including business leaders, HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, Finance, Strategy, and Communications to ensure successful execution of programs
  • Evaluate Markel’s current benefits enrolment processes and practices through the lens of efficiency and scalability
  • When necessary, assist with troubleshooting and managing relationships with benefits managers, insurance brokers, and carriers
  • Stay up to date on current events in applicable countries including legislative and market developments
