We are looking for an individual to be the primary interface between the Disbursements department and our internal and external customers. What part will you play? The opportunity: This position is responsible for owning the service expectations for disbursement‑related activities, being the first point of contact for Markel internal customers and suppliers, and meeting with key customers to identify operational or service‑related issues or improvements which need addressing to maximize operational efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Represent the Disbursements function by challenging business and process owners in a positive and proactive manner to collaboratively improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance and troubleshooting support.
  • Accountable as key person for escalation of disbursements’ related issues.
  • Manage relationships with key business contacts.
  • Implement effective communication mechanisms to meet customer and supplier expectations.
  • Work with peers to shape, drive and deliver the team’s operational and strategic goals.
  • Understand customer needs and develop plans to quickly and effectively address them.
  • Identify and resolve complex business problems, typically multi‑dimensional, that require in‑depth analysis and judgment to develop solutions.
  • Use technology to best leverage available resources and complete tasks in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Participate in business projects, as they arise.
  • Collaborate with teammates and initiate ideas with management to identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
