The opportunity:

Within the Data Governance & Data Quality (DQG) team, the role supports the Data Strategy by creating governance materials, documentation, and communications and helping stakeholders embrace governance practices in BAU. The role combines data operations, management, and governance support to keep reference data accurate, well-governed, and aligned with business and regulatory needs.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Hands-On Reference Data Delivery
    • Perform and lead reference data activities, including processing data requests (e.g. class codes, mappings, hierarchies).
    • Investigating and resolving data issues.
    • Maintaining reference data structures in systems (e.g. Ataccama RDM).
  • Ensure reference data outputs are accurate, consistent, and complete.
  • Lead SLA priorities to deliver requests and resolve issues on time.
  • Reference Data Process Ownership
    • Support management and continuous improvement of the reference data process.
    • Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to data quality, process efficiency, and user experience.
    • Improve requirement gathering to reduce rework and duplication.
    • Find opportunities for growing the scope of Reference Data Management.
  • Data Governance Enablement
    • Support implementation of the Data Governance framework in line with the International Data Policy.
    • Contribute to data domain definitions, ownership and stewardship models, governance standards and processes.
    • Embed governance principles into reference data processes.
  • Data Governance Awareness & Content Development
    • Produce and maintain governance documentation and artefacts, including process documentation, governance models and frameworks, training and user guidance.
    • Develop clear communication materials to support Data Strategy rollout.
    • Support the Head of Data Governance in driving awareness and adoption.
  • Governance Coordination
    • Support monthly governance forums and working groups.
    • Work with Data Owners, Stewards, and SMEs to support adoption of governance practices and provide guidance on reference data processes.
    • Act as a trusted support function, helping stakeholders embed best practice in BAU.
Our must-haves:
  • Experience in hands-on data management, reference data, or data operations.
  • Understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality principles.
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate and resolve data issues.
  • Experience in process- and deadline-focused environments.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to use a range of communication methods and channels effectively.
  • Experience with data tools/platforms (e.g. Ataccama or similar) desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, to create clear documentation, presentations, and training materials.
  • Able to work effectively across business and technology.
  • Insurance or financial services experience preferred.
