Help shape one of the UK’s fastest growing Cyber portfolios!

Cyber risk is accelerating — and so are we. As part of a significant long term investment in our UK Cyber proposition, we’re looking for an experienced Cyber Senior Underwriter to play a key role in growing and shaping a high quality, profitable book through to 2030.

This is an opportunity to combine technical cyber underwriting, broker engagement, and genuine autonomy within a highly respected, people first insurer.

  • Be part of an ambitious cyber growth strategy, with a clear plan to build the portfolio to ÂŁ35m GWP by 2030
  • Underwrite quality SME cyber business with strong broker submissions and established relationships
  • Real authority and visibility — your expertise will genuinely influence outcomes
  • A collaborative, specialist cyber team where knowledge‐sharing and development are actively encouraged
  • Hybrid working with the role based in Manchester

The role:

Reporting to the Cyber Team Leader, you’ll be a senior member of a dedicated cyber unit underwriting both new business and renewals across open market and e‐trade platforms. You’ll play a key role in supporting growth while maintaining underwriting discipline, acting as a referral point to colleagues and helping develop cyber capability across the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Underwriting and negotiating new business and renewal cyber risks within authority
  • Managing key renewal accounts with a focus on profitable retention
  • Building and strengthening trading relationships with broker partners, positioning us as a preferred cyber market
  • Acting as a technical referral point and supporting the development of underwriters within the team
  • Reviewing broker‐generated quotes and articulating product value to secure placements
  • Managing workflow through internal underwriting and e‐trade platforms (e.g. Acturis)

About you:

You’ll be an experienced cyber underwriter who enjoys combining technical underwriting with broker engagement and commercial decision‐making. You’ll bring:

  • At least 3 years’ experience underwriting cyber insurance (preferable)
  • Proven experience across both new business and renewals
  • Strong broker and market relationships
  • Confidence handling referrals and supporting less experienced underwriters
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Experience using e‐trade platforms (Acturis desirable, not essential)

We do insurance differently. We’re a people‐first organisation built on trust, long‐term thinking and underwriting excellence. As part of a Fortune 500 group operating in over 20 countries, we combine global capability with a genuinely human culture.
