Job Location: Tower Park, Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Thursday 7.30 am – 4.00 pm and Friday 7.30 am – 1.00 pm

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum, depending on level of experience

A successful and ever‑growing manufacturing company who have an excellent reputation in the industry are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Administrator to join their friendly and hardworking procurement team based at their office in Poole.

Responsibilities

  • Support a team of 2 buyers by completing administration tasks such as chasing suppliers for updates on outstanding orders.
  • Updating company systems and spreadsheets with goods and parts received.
  • Updating internal departments on the status of orders to help plan production.
  • Ensuring orders are placed correctly and arrive on time; raise any delays or issues to the materials manager.
  • Obtain acknowledgements for all company‑procured orders, verify details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on any outstanding orders and chase delivery dates.
  • Liaise with production, sales and other internal departments to keep them up to date on orders.
  • Ensure all databases—including the MRP system—are kept up to date with correct contact details and communications.

Qualifications

We would like our ideal candidates to possess:

  • Previous administration experience in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Some experience within purchasing, buying, supply‑chain, procurement or an interest in the field.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills via phone, email and face‑to‑face.
  • The ability to work well within a team, be an excellent team player and also work independently using initiative.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Good PC skills, knowledge of Microsoft programmes including Excel and Outlook.
