Do you have a passion for daily driving, working in part of a busy team, and getting stock where it needs to go including lifting it yourself? If this sounds like you, come and join the driving team at St Christophers where you will be responsible for moving stock, whether it's bags or bulky goods, as a vital member of a driving team that are part of a successful retail operation all over the South East.
What's the Job?
- Salary: £26,446 per annum
- Employment Terms: Monday to Sunday based on a 7-day rota.
- Location: St Paul's Cray base with travel across SE London
You’ll typically be part of a two-person team on a large van moving multiple bags or furniture items where they need to go, either on to the next store on the route or into customers' homes. You’ll report into a Logistics Lead and complete ad hoc work as necessary. You’ll be responsible for compliance matters such as completing H&S and vehicle checks each day, as well as reporting any issues to make sure our vehicles stay roadworthy and presentable. You’ll be working alongside Store Management and other staff to complete work swiftly and efficiently at each stop, or with a Logistics Assistant to manage bulky goods deliveries and collections. You’ll sometimes be asked to move items in our stores using your excellent manual handling ability, including bulky and heavy items. You’ll be customer facing sometimes and will be a good representation of St Christophers throughout your working day.
Who are we Looking For?
- You’ll have excellent experience working multi-drop delivery routes
- You’ll have experience working removals or bulky goods collection or delivery routes
- You will have a Driving Licence Class B, B1
- You’ll be physically fit for manual handling that includes heavy items such as furniture
- You’ll have experience in completing H&S, compliance, and maintenance related checks for vehicles
- You’ll have good customer service skills and a can-do attitude
