- Used tools like Postman, Kafka, or custom Java services to monitor and test integration flows
- Investigated and resolved a failure in a data sync job that impacted real-time updates
- Participated in a sprint planning session to scope out a new court records integration
What You\’ll Need
We\’re looking for a thoughtful and collaborative engineer with 1+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including some exposure to system integrations or backend development. You should be motivated by meaningful problems and excited to contribute to tools that help people in the most critical moments of their lives.
You should have:
- 1+ years of professional engineering experience or a Computer Science degree plus internship experience
- Experience with at least part of our stack: Java, JavaScript, TypeScript + React, and MySQL
- A solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, or message queues (Kafka a plus)
- Interest or experience in AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or LLM APIs
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with both internal and external stakeholders
- A pragmatic approach to solving technical challenges and delivering value incrementally
