Mark43's mission is to empower communities and the governments that serve them with technology that improves safety and quality of life for all. We build powerful, scalable and elegant software that sets a new standard for the tools relied upon by police, emergency services and other public safety organisations. Our users are diverse, and we are committed to welcoming a broad range of perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking within our team.

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Business Analyst with a strong background in requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder engagement. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable working with both technical and non-technical audiences, and who enjoys translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable solutions. Over time, this role will require working from our Manchester office or a customer site at least three days per week. Due to the nature of our work with UK public sector organisations, this role is subject to security vetting. Mark43 will sponsor and manage the vetting process, and employment is contingent on the successful candidate obtaining and maintaining NPPV3 clearance.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate closely with public safety professionals to elicit, document and validate business and functional requirements, translating operational needs into clear specifications for technical teams.
  • Lead discovery and scoping activities, facilitating workshops and interviews with stakeholders to define problems, map current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements documents, process maps, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Serve as a senior liaison between customers and internal product and engineering teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and delivered solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Support UAT planning and execution, working with customers to define test scenarios, track defects and confirm that delivered solutions meet agreed requirements.
  • Build and maintain data analytics dashboards and reports that support public safety operations and decision-making.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops for public safety personnel to improve confidence and capability in using our technology.
  • Gather and analyse customer feedback to identify trends, inform product improvements and shape the ongoing development of our platform.
  • Work with management to identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency and innovation.
  • Stay informed about developments in public safety technology, data analytics and business analysis practice.

What You'll Need

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a business analyst role, ideally within a SaaS, public sector or enterprise software environment.
  • Proven ability to elicit and document requirements from diverse stakeholders, including senior public safety professionals and technical teams.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops, discovery sessions and structured interviews.
  • Proficiency in producing clear business analysis artefacts: process maps, user stories, BRDs, use cases and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to interpret and communicate data-driven insights.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, customer needs and internal deadlines effectively.
  • Experience leading workstreams and supporting or mentoring more junior team members.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences.

People who thrive on our team also tend to share the following characteristics:

  • Humble, open and curious. You take initiative, ask the right questions and address potential issues before they become problems.
  • Passionate and motivated. You care deeply about improving public safety outcomes and take pride in delivering high-quality, well-considered work.
  • A relationship builder. You work effectively with customers, partners and internal teams to achieve shared goals and build lasting trust.
  • Positive and supportive. You bring energy and empathy to your work and are committed to providing an excellent experience for our customers.
