We are looking for outgoing, enthusiastic and passionate staff to join the team. As a Head of Department within our childcare team you will be responsible for the management of one of our children’s clubs to manage and to grow in confidence and ability as the season progresses to deliver an outstanding service. You will be accountable for a team of childcare practitioners and/or activity leaders. You will help create a stimulating environment whilst looking after the safety and welfare of all children.
Main Responsibilities
- Operational
- Ensure effective management and organisation of the Junior and Kidz Club (6yrs-13yrs) within the childcare department.
- Support the Childcare Manager to ensure the childcare department and staff meet and maintain Mark Warner standards at all times including quality, safety, ratios, hygiene, child well-being and conditions of registration.
- Maintain up-to-date records for all children in your club.
- Implement health, safety and security policies, ensure they are fully operational on a daily basis.
- Action and monitor any parents’ child-related issues.
- Oversee the creating of weekly activity programs, suitable to your club, including contingency activities.
- Ensure the nutritional needs of children are met.
- Assess and manage risk, to remove or reduce risks where reasonably possible.
- Deputise in the Childcare Manager's absence.
- Assist with the general operation of the resort and other departments.
- Assist in a welcome and information meeting for parents to inform them of the childcare services and facilities.
- Ensure all signage and promotional material is correct, relevant and up to date.
- Maintain contact with parents/guardians, dealing with any guest issues that arise in an appropriate and professional manner.
- Maintain an excellent standard of customer service.
- Ensure good communication links with other departments, including hotel staff, local suppliers and head office.
- Manage and train staff to activities relevant to your club.
- Undertake regular staff meetings to inform and develop the program.
- Provide ongoing training and where necessary, a training plan for all staff and ensure they are supported through their duties.
- Assist in staff reviews, appraisals and any disciplinary or grievance matters.
- Motivate staff, both in and out of work.
- Assist with control of the budget and work towards financial targets for income and costs.
- Proactively increase in resort revenue where possible.
- Ensure the maintenance and security of toys and childcare equipment.

- Ability to work with a wide variety of ages.

Requirements
- CACHE, NNED, City & Guilds, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent childcare qualification to Level 3.
- At least 2 years full time in a childcare environment.
- Experience in Nursery Management.
- Valid Full or Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Enhanced DBS (we can arrange).
- UK/EU passport holder.
- UK National Insurance or EU Social Security number.
- UK/EU bank account.
