We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer to cover the Colchester area. This role involves carrying out servicing, fault finding, and repairs within private residential properties. You will typically complete 6–8 jobs per day, delivering a high standard of workmanship and exceptional customer service. You will also liaise with major insurance providers when required.
Key Responsibilities- Service, diagnose faults, and repair domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
- Carry out repairs safely and efficiently in private residential properties.
- Complete 6–8 jobs per day while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
- Complete all job reports and documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers, office staff, and insurance providers where required.
- Valid domestic gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, and CKR1 (essential).
- OFTEC/Oil qualifications are advantageous and attract the higher salary band.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in domestic gas service and breakdown work.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Clean DBS.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
