MarkMay is expanding its specialist divisions and is looking to appoint an experienced Recruitment Consultant working within the Fire Protection sector. This opportunity focuses on both Passive and Active Fire markets across the UK and offers the chance to build and develop a high-performing desk within a growing business.
Position Overview
This role will suit a commercially minded recruiter who enjoys developing client partnerships and delivering high-quality recruitment solutions within a technical market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and growing a client base within the Fire Protection sector
- Managing the full recruitment process from initial brief through to successful placement
- Identifying and engaging skilled professionals across both Passive and Active disciplines
- Conducting client meetings, including site visits, to gain a detailed understanding of projects and hiring needs
- Building long-term relationships with both clients and candidates within a highly regulated market
- Maintaining a consistent pipeline of vacancies and candidates
While this role is initially an individual contributor position, there is a clear pathway into team leadership and management as the desk develops.
Candidate Profile
We are interested in individuals who can demonstrate:
- Previous recruitment experience (ideally within Fire Protection, M&E, Construction, or a related technical sector)
- A track record of billing and delivering on both permanent and/or temporary roles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility
- A proactive and resilient approach to business development
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail
- A genuine ambition to progress into a senior or managerial position

Remuneration and Benefits
- Basic salary between £36,000 – £40,000, dependent on experience
- Uncapped commission structure with realistic on-target earnings of £70,000+
