Join Farmers Weekly as an Events Assistant and kick-start your career in events, gaining hands-on experience delivering industry events within a supportive, creative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in events. You do not need years of experience, just enthusiasm, organisation, creativity and the confidence to get involved. We are looking for someone curious, proactive and genuinely excited about working across a varied portfolio of Farmers Weekly events.

If you enjoy fast-paced environments, love seeing projects come together and want a role where no two days are the same, this could be a great fit. As an Events Assistant at Farmers Weekly, you will support the delivery of more than 20 events each year, from flagship competitions like Britain’s Fittest Farmer to industry events such as the Harvest Festival, alongside practical on-farm sessions, round tables and conferences. You will gain hands-on experience across event planning, sponsorship coordination, operations and webinar delivery while learning from an experienced and supportive team.

This is a role where you will quickly gain real responsibility and exposure. One day you could be helping coordinate a live event, the next attending site visits, supporting sponsors or assisting with webinar rehearsals and event logistics.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of events, including venue coordination, supplier management and equipment requirements.
  • Support on-site event delivery, including set-up, breakdown, site visits and client meetings alongside the Events Manager.
  • Assist with webinar delivery, including registration pages, rehearsals and reporting.
  • Support social media activity around Farmers Weekly events and projects with engaging content and ideas.
  • Build strong relationships across editorial, sales, marketing and operations teams to help deliver high-quality event experiences.

Skills required:

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.
  • Confidence working across teams and supporting a variety of projects.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and support events outside standard office hours when required.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience supporting events, webinars or live projects.
  • Experience creating social media content.

If you do not meet every requirement but bring transferable skills, sound judgement and fresh thinking, we encourage you to apply.

Why join Mark Allen Group?

  • A culture shaped by our values: Passionate, Creative, Nurturing and Fair.
