Make a difference every day at Marjory Kinnon School
Are you a caring, compassionate and experienced healthcare professional looking for a role where your skills can make a real difference?
Marjory Kinnon School is looking for a dedicated School Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an opportunity to bring your nursing knowledge and experience into a rewarding specialist education setting, supporting children and young people with autism and additional needs.
Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. You'll play an important role in keeping them healthy, safe and supported, helping them access school life and make the most of every opportunity.
About the role
You'll take the lead in coordinating and delivering the school's day-to-day medical and healthcare provision, supporting both pupils and staff. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are quite the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading on first aid and responding to medical needs and emergencies.
- Overseeing the safe management and administration of medication.
- Developing, maintaining and reviewing individual healthcare plans.
- Coordinating the management of allergies and other medical needs.
- Monitoring and managing medical supplies and equipment.
- Working closely with parents and carers, school staff and external healthcare professionals to ensure pupils receive the right support.
- Contributing ideas and expertise to help us continually develop and improve our medical provision.
About you
We're looking for someone who is calm, compassionate and approachable, with the confidence to manage a varied workload and respond thoughtfully to the needs of individual pupils.
You’ll bring:
- A background in nursing, healthcare or a relevant clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A caring, patient and flexible approach.
- The ability to work independently and take the initiative, while also being a valued member of a wider team.
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs.
Experience of working with children with autism or in a special school would be an advantage, but we're particularly interested in hearing from people who bring the right skills, attitude and enthusiasm for the role.
