As deputy to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the technical department and leading the engineering team, including the watchkeeping teams. It will be your job to make sure that all engine room plant and machinery is thoroughly tested and maintained so that they’re always performing well, and that all maintenance work complies with relevant regulations. As Staff Chief Engineer, you’ll also oversee the testing of SOLAS equipment, keep maintenance records, liaise with shore teams, develop the ship’s asset management plan, and attend corporate social events. Meanwhile, you’ll visit different places, explore new worlds and gain experiences that stay with you for a lifetime.
To apply for Staff Chief Engineer Officer you will need:
- Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) for Motorships only (with no limitations).
- STCW High Voltage Management training certificate.
- Experience on board a cruise ship would be desirable, but not essential.
