As a market leader in the cruise line industry, we operate spectacular ships all over the world. Each time we hit the seas, there’s one thing we never, ever compromise on the safety of our passengers and crew. And as Safety Officer on board, you’ll make sure that it always stays that way.
What you’ll be doing:
Acting as the most senior deck officer after the Staff Captain
Investigating all major and serious accidents and incidents
Managing a small team of Deck Crew , leading the day-to-day planned maintenance of safety and emergency equipment
Maintaining oversight of the shipboard emergency response organisation
Ensuring all key emergency response positions are covered by suitably trained and certificated personnel
Remaining fully competent as a watch keeping Officer
Supplementing the Bridge watch and taking ‘the charge’ as needed
What we’re looking for:
A professional and calm leader , especially under pressure
Someone who leads by example and actively promotes a strong safety culture
A leader who puts health and safety at the heart of all planning and decision-making
To join us as Safety Officer, you’ll need:
A Master’s Unlimited (II/2) certificate with no limitations
Experience in rank as Safety Officer
Strong technical understanding of cruise ship operations
In-depth knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Experience on board a cruise ship is essential.
