Trainee Terminal Controller

Due to continued success, we are recruiting for a Trainee Terminal Controller to work at our new Rail Freight Terminal based in Northampton . The shift pattern will be Monday to Friday 06:00 – 15:00 initially, then moving onto an AM/PM weekly rotation.

The Role
- Face to face dealings with drivers, booking both loaded and empty units in and out of the terminal
- Ensuring all container numbers are correctly recorded both in and out of the system
- Ensure all release/acceptance information is entered into the system in a timely and accurate manner
- Adding both train arrivals and departures to the system
- Dealing with yard operations over a 2-way radio
- Dealing with customers both on the telephone and by email
- Administrative duties – checks carried out to try and capture any mistakes that may have occurred and correcting these before any credit notes are required
- Liaising with our transport team
