As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of turnkey offshore projects, delivering a range of integrated services to ensure seamless execution for our clients worldwide. From leading‑edge energy operators to emerging international contractors, you will work with a diverse portfolio of customers, tailoring solutions that span engineering, operations, and asset management. With the backing of MDL’s best‑in‑class equipment and expert teams, your role will be to orchestrate the entire project lifecycle, ensuring client success from contract award through to offshore execution. Based primarily in our Aberdeen office, you will also be encouraged to travel internationally, embedding yourself within client operations to guarantee an exceptional customer experience.

  • Full Project Ownership – Take the lead on global offshore projects, ensuring smooth execution and customer satisfaction from contract award to closeout.
  • Turnkey Service Delivery – Manage a range of integrated MDL services, including equipment rental, engineering support, offshore personnel, and operational planning.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management – Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust through proactive communication, problem‑solving, and high‑quality service delivery.
  • Project Execution & Risk Management – Define and control project scopes, costs, schedules, and risks, ensuring all work meets the highest safety, technical, and operational standards.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination – Work closely with MDL’s Engineering, Operations, Assets, and Commercial teams to align project execution with strategic business objectives.
  • Offshore & International Presence – Travel to client locations, fabrication yards, and offshore worksites when required, ensuring seamless integration between planning and execution.
  • Commercial & Financial Oversight – Manage project budgets, forecast costs, and drive efficiencies to protect margins and maximise value for both MDL and its clients.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify lessons learned and best practices to refine MDL’s approach to project execution and maintain our reputation as an industry leader.

  • Technical understanding of offshore equipment, project logistics, and installation methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Experience working with Operators, Tier 1 Contractors, and/or Vessel Owners internationally.
  • Formal Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, APM, or PRINCE2).
  • Experience working in an asset rental or service‑based project environment.
  • Background in engineering, operations, or offshore execution would be advantageous.
