Job description: To provide effective and efficient administrative support to HM Coastguard Operations to ensure a high level of customer service is given to both internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Ensuring appropriate Operational Support resource is allocated for the administrative support for national functions.
- Providing resource for full executive secretariat functions and managing administrative tasks for HMCG management operational meetings and working groups as required.
- Management of the HMCG uniform ordering process.
- Providing Operational Support resource to HMCG Operations.
- Management and administration of team email inboxes.
- Line management activities of the reporting officers including conducting performance management reviews, staff welfare, leave and absence requests and authorisation of staff travel and expenses.
You will line manage 5-7 direct reports. Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need.
Required experience: To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
- Experienced in line-managing a remote team, ensuring clarity, support and consistent performance.
- Highly organised and detail-focused, able to provide clear, timely and accurate secretariat support to enable effective governance and decision-making.
- A strong team player with clear written and verbal communication skills, able to build positive working relationships.
- Accurate and flexible, able to manage a busy and varied workload and work effectively with limited supervision.
Additional information: Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week. This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.
