The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) are seeking a Pay and Reward Manager to join its Corporate Services Group. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a great team, working with colleagues inside and outside the organisation, resolving payroll issues, explaining policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance. You will need to communicate clearly to stakeholders to explain decisions, policies and be able to handle challenging conversations.
As a Pay and Reward Manager, you will be responsible for policy and process affecting Reward, Pay, Reporting, Pensions, Relocation, Organisational Structure and Staff Movements within MCA. You will provide expert advice to staff and the wider HR team, and support the HR Pay and Reward Lead in the team’s contributions to delivering the MCA People Plan.
Top Responsibilities- Leading on implementation and application of Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) related activities including supporting the delivery of annual self-assessments, moderation, alignment and assurance.
- Providing advice and support on Pay and Reward Policy to the MCA's Shared Services provider, HR colleagues, employees and managers across the organisation as well as updating relevant policies and procedures when required.
- Payroll Actions - Liaising between the business and the MCA Shared Services provider to effect ad-hoc changes.
- Resolving any overpayments and underpayments identifying opportunities to prevent reoccurrence. Working with affected individuals, reported by the shared services, on the best repayment plan possible.
- Providing guidance and subject matter expertise in the delivery of payroll related projects.
- Managing and overseeing activities related to Job evaluation and Grading Scheme (JEGS). Working with Associate HR Business Partners (HRBP), HRBPs, and Managers to design and develop effective roles.
- Employer pension contribution of 28.97% of your salary.
- 25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day each year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days annual leave).
