Main duties of the job

If you're an enthusiastic Practice Nurse who has a Diploma in Diabetes and are looking to join a friendly, supportive practice where your skills are recognised and your wellbeing matters, we'd love to hear from you, informal visits or an informal conversation with the Practice Manager or Practice Nurse Lead are warmly welcomed. Working for our organisation Marisco Medical Practice is a friendly, welcoming GP practice situated in the popular seaside town of Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast. We care for over 14,000 patients and pride ourselves on delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Our multidisciplinary team includes experienced GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Phlebotomist, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Practitioners, and an excellent administrative and reception team. Main duties of the job

  • Deliver diabetes reviews and ongoing management (this is essential for this position)
  • Provide patient education and lifestyle advice.
  • Monitor and optimise diabetes treatment in line with national guidelines.
  • Undertake chronic disease management clinics.
  • Administer vaccines and immunisations.
  • Perform cervical screening, wound care and health promotion activities as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • PLEASE NOTE, PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF WORKING AS A PRACTICE NURSE AND A QUALIFICATION IN DIABETES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS POSITION.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Practice Nurse
  • Experience in managing patients with Diabetes
  • Previous experience of working in general practice.

Desirable

  • Diploma in Diabetes
  • Previous experience of SystmOne
