About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault‑finding, and commissioning of fire suppression systems. The role involves travelling to client sites across the UK & Ireland to deliver high‑quality technical support and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role is home‑based, candidates must be located within 2 hours from London’s city centre, occasional office visit is required.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service visits on Hi‑Fog / Marioff systems
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and ensure systems are restored to operational standards
- Support installation and commissioning projects when required
- Complete service reports, maintenance records and documentation to company and client standards
- Work closely with clients and site teams to provide technical advice and solutions
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and fire regulations
- Participate in the on‑call rota to provide emergency support when required
- Adhere to all health & safety standards and promote company culture
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven, hands‑on work experience with mechanical system installation/maintenance/service, mechanical engineering knowledge, preferably with products including piping/hydraulics
- Education in a related field
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong communication skills
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, customer‑oriented approach
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home where required, workload tolerance
Considered as an advantage:
- Previous experience working with fire suppression systems (Hi‑Fog / Marioff or water mist experience highly desirable)
- Previous experience/knowledge of electricity/electrical automation technology
- Engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, FIA or equivalent) preferred
